Explorers Post #295This program is designed for motivated and service-oriented young men
and women, ages 14 to 20, who have an interest in the law enforcement
field. The Explorers attend weekly meetings where they receive training
in all avenues of law enforcement. They assist in a variety of police
community outreach programs, as well as participating in regional
Explorer competitions yearly. The program provides an opportunity for
youth to gain personal satisfaction, enhance their leadership/teamwork
skills and make a difference in their community. Police Explorer Post competed in the 11th Annual Chandler Arizona Tactical Competition. They
competed against 40 Posts from around the United States. LB Explorer
Post placed 2nd and 4th in the Advisor 3-mile Run; 3rd place in Tactical
Scout; 4th place in Hogan's Alley (shoot don't shoot scenarios); and
4th place in Explorer 3-mile run. The Explorer Scout leader is Detective Lisa Schumaker, assigned to the LBPD Youth Services Bureau. ________________________________________________________________________________ Recent Events:Thanksgiving Celebration on Tuesday, November 22 for members and officers who work with the Long Beach Police Explorer Post #295.
